A shower device comprises, as shown in Fig. 2, a shower rose 12, a hose 11 connected to the rose and adapted to be connected to a water supply source, and a plug-and-socket device 21 and 19 allowing the use of the device as a fixed shower as shown, or, by disengaging the member 19 from the plug 31, as a portable shower, the plug device 21 being slidably mounted on a fixed bar 22 so that its position may be adjusted and that it may then be clamped to the bar. Fig. 4 shows the device 21 and the clamping means to a larger scale; it comprises a saddle 25 with an eccentric boss 26 disposed between its arms 27 and bearing against a shoe 29 so that, in the position shown, the bar 22 is gripped between the saddle and the shoe but that, when the boss 26 is rotated about its axles 28 by means of the arm 30 projecting from it, it is freed for adjustment on the bar 22. Pins 33 may be provided on the plug 31 to engage slots in the socket device 19. A ring 49 (see Fig. 2) is provided so that the rose 12 may be hung loosely by it from the plug device 21. The socket adaptor 14 carrying the member 19 may alternatively be of the form disclosed in Specification 754,210.
