Abstract

753,823. Supplying liquid fuel to burners. ORR & SEMBOWER, Inc. Nov. 2,1954 [Feb. 17, 1954], No. 31630/54. Class 75(1). [Also in Groups XII and XXIX] Oil at 10, Fig. 1, passes via pump 12, heater 13, pipe 14, constant pressure or flow control valve 15 and pipe 24 to an oil supply and recirculation valve 21, for a liquid fuel burner 22. Steam for the heater is controlled by a thermostatic valve 31 responsive to the oil temperature at 37 and the valve 15 has a by-pass 18 to the pump inlet. The valve 21, Fig. 2, has shuttle lift valves 113, 125 operated by a piston 131 moved by compressed air via pipe 146 under the control of a thermostatic valve 94 responsive to the temperature maintained by the burner. As shown in Fig. 2 the valves allow oil to pass from inlet 24 to outlet 28 leading to the pump inlet. When valve 113 is seated and valve 125 opened, oil from inlet 24 passes to burner tube 25 surrounded by atomizing tube 148 into which air or steam is passed from pipe 147 under the control of burner thermostatic valve 151. Specification 744,747 and U.S.A. Specifications 2,000,733 and 2,489,823 are referred to.
