751,614. Shoes for walking on water. LEVIS, C. R., and WOZNIAK, A. Jan. 19, 1954, No. 1627/54. Class 113. Water skis comprising a pair of buoyant units 7, 8 each adapted at the centre to accommodate the feet of the user, resting at a comparatively low level of the units, have cords, cables or the like 15 running over pulleys 14 on the two units and connecting them so as to control their relative back and forth movement, springs 16 being interposed in the cords, cables or the like to hold them under tension, whereby a limited back and forth relative movement is permitted between the units, in which after displacement from the normal side-by-side position, the springs tend to return the units to said position. Each unit has a keel-like member 17 provided on one side with pocketlike members 18 of flexible material open towards the rear of the unit and adapted to open out upon movement in the rearward direction to hinder such movement, while for movement in the forward direction the pockets collapse so as not to hinder such forward movement.
