Abstract

751,300. Suction cleaners. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. June 24, 1954 [June 26, 1953], No. 18569/54. Class 8(1). A floor cleaning attachment for a vacuum cleaner comprises a base plate I and a top shell 32 secured thereto and enclosing an agitator 5 and a driving motor 15 therefor. The base plate has a U-shaped rib 9, 10, 11 and a rib 13 which together with the top shell 32 form a housing for the motor 15 and with ribs 36 on the shell 32, chambers 45 connecting the suction slot 3 to a T-shaped suction hose connection 24, the cross pipe of which is rotatably mounted in the rib members 10, 11, the other projecting through the top shell. Front wheels 8 are mounted on the base 1 and rear wheels 42 on the inside of outer end walls 39 of the top shell which encloses the wheels.
