Abstract

747,938. Rectifying. SIEMENS-REINIGERWERKE AKT.-GES. June 3, 1954 [June 6, 1963], No. 16514/54. Class 38 (2). A power pack for an X-ray tube comprises a fluid-filled tank 2 containing a high-tension transformer 4, dry rectifiers 12 (preferably of the foil rod type) and tubular condensers 8, 9 which surround the rectifiers. The rectifiers are arranged in two stacks adjacent the axis of the condensers, with the elements of one stack, which are horizontally disposed, staggered vertically in relation to the elements of the other stack. The condensers and rectifiers are arranged in a Liebenow-Greinacher circuit, the output terminal 15 of which is connected to the output socket 25 of the power pack through a pair of damping resistors 18 which, in association with a mains-operated earthing switch 26, 27, also serve to discharge the condensers when the pack is switched off. The tank, which may be provided with a cooling pipe 28, may also contain auxiliary transformers, such as 22. The tubular condensers are of rectangular crosssection.
