Abstract

741,551. Dental instruments. BANE, A. April 23, 1954 [Jan. 23, 1953], No. 18686/52. Class 81(2). A saliva extractor is provided with means for illuminating the interior of the mouth when it is in position. In the described embodiment the top part of the ejector tube 1 is cut away at 3 to allow a synthetic resin window 5 to be inserted so as to cover a lamp 4 in a springy brass holder 11. The leads 15 for the lamp are passed down an independent conduit 14. The lamp support 11 tends to press the lamp upwards and thus holds it securely in a recess 12 in the window 5 and so also holds the window against sideways movement while engaging its chamfered ends 8, 9 firmly under the similarly shaped ends of the hole 3.
