Abstract
738,846. Door-operating apparatus. EXPRESS LIFT CO., Ltd., and DIXIE, W. A. Jan. 23, 1953, No. 2073/53. Class 65(1). [Also in Group X] In a centre opening sliding door arrangement for lifts, the door panels which meet in the centre are each hung upon its own track by hangers which overlap when the panels meet. As shown in Fig. 1, the sliding door comprises slow moving panels 10, 12 and fast moving panels 11, 13. The fast moving panels 11, 13 are carried by hangers 40, 50 rolling on tracks 43, 53 respectively. The slow moving panels are carried by hangers 15, 25 engaging a track on the cage parallel with the tracks 53. The hanger 40 is operated by motor driven pivoted links 56-59 and is connected to the hanger 15 by a clamp 65 to a wire rope 66 passing round pulleys 67, 68 on the hanger 15 and anchored at 69 on the cage whereby the panel 10 moves half as quickly as the panel 11. The hanger 40 is connected to the fast moving hanger 50 to drive it at the same speed by a cable 70 connected to the hanger 40 at 71 and to the hanger 50 at 74 and passing round pulleys 72, 73 on the cage. The hanger 25 is connected to the hanger 50 by a member clamped at 79 on the hanger 50 to a rope 76 passing round pulleys 77, 78 on the hanger 25 and anchored at 80 on the cage. The hanger 40 may be arranged to pass between the lower tracks. More than two panels on each side may be used. The landing doors may be operated simultaneously.
