Abstract

<PICT:0737764/III/1> A door for an opening in the casing 4 of a dry-cleaning machine comprises a plate member 15 mounted in a frame member 9 slidable on a cylindrical portion 6 of a chassis 1 and urged towards the chassis by springs 12, the chassis 1 being adapted for attachment to the casing 4 and having means 19, 20 operable to force the frame member 9 away from the chassis into sealing contact with the casing around the opening therein. The chassis is hinged at 2 to the casing 4 and is formed on the opposite side with a radial projection 21 on which is pivoted a latch 23 adapted to engage a hook 24 fixed to the casing. A glass plate 15 is clamped between flanges on the frame member 9 and a ring 13 screwed thereto. Screws 19 operated by hand wheels 20 are threaded through the chassis 1 and can be tightened to force a gasket 14 on the frame 9 tightly against a rim 18 on the casing. The ring 13 enters an opening 26 in a rotary drum 27 and so retains the contents within the drum.
