Abstract
To an aqueous solution containing Vitamin B1 there is added 0.05 to 5 g./100 c.c. of thioglycollic acid, thiomalic acid, methionine, thiourea, thiophencarboxylic acid, thio-dibutyric acid, allylthiourea, glycocoll or asparagine or a mixture of these compounds and the final pH of the solution is adjusted to lie between 2 and 7. Such addition avoids or delays the formation of a precipitate for several months on storage. In an example thioglycollic acid is added to an aqueous solution of the hydrochloric acid salt of Vitamin B1.
