Abstract

713,491. Disintegrating-machines. LUKENS STEEL CO. April 1, 1952 [April 11, 1951], No. 8254/52. Class 59 [Also in Group XXX] A machine for disintegrating hard lump solids, e.g. stones or rock, is in the form of a mobile unit and comprises a disintegrating impeller 14 driven by an engine E the major portion of the weight of the engine and impeller being carried by a pair of rear wheels B, and lump solids are fed to the impeller by means of a digging conveyer 30 (see Group XXX) the digging end of which is supported by front caster wheels C. The conveyer is provided with pivotally-mounted upwardly displaceable breaker elements 81 the tops of which are in the form of boxes 84 which may be filled with rocks to add to the weight of the breaker elements. The disintegrated material is discharged through an opening 80. Specification 693,572 is referred to.
