Abstract
702,140. Shuttering for casting columns and beams. HAWES, A. H. Aug. 21, 1951 [Aug. 21, 1950], No. 20679/50. Class 20 (2) Shuttering for a column comprises panels 10 having reinforcing angle bars 11 engaged on each side of the column by aligned angle bars 12, the panels being connected at each corner of the column by angle irons 14 connected to the angle irons on the panels by looped brackets 22 and wedges 68 described in Specification 594,666, the angle irons 14 being connected end to end by tube couplings 17 described in Specification 642,365 which engage tubular sockets 16 welded to the angle irons. The brackets 22 are connected to the angle irons 14 by screws 13 passing through holes 15 and screwing into flanges 26 of the brackets 22. The angle irons 14 seat on the corners of the shuttering by means of lugs 18 shaped to fit the corner of the angle iron and the edges of the panels. The shuttering is secured to scaffolding by clamps 19a described in Specification 668,372, engaging the holes in the angle irons 14. The shuttering may also be used for casting a beam.
