701,080. Bed-settees. CLARKE & GOUGH, Ltd., and GORDON, C. Feb. 26, 1953. [March 3, 1952], No. 6087/52. Class 52(2) In a bed-settee of the kind comprising a head section and one or more further sections the sections being relatively extendible and that section adjacent the head section having a rearward flexible exten- .sion slidable in guides into the exterior of the head section the side members of the flexible extension comprise links pivotally connected together each link being of flat formation with a cranked part at one end so that the main bodies of all the links at each side are in longitudinal alignment. As shown the bed-settee comprises a head section A and two further sections B, C the section B having the flexible extension 22 connected thereto and, by springs 29, to the frame or head section A. Section B has rollers 18 adapted to move on guides 20 and is provided with front legs 13 while section C has rollers 16 adapted to move on guides 17 of the section B and is provided with front legs 14. The links 23 having cranked ends 26 are pivoted together at 24, are connected to the links 23 on the opposite side by tubular connectors 25, have lugs 27 to prevent flexing of the links in one direction and are curved at the lower side, and at the upper side if desired,.as shown at 28. The frames 11, 12 of the sections B, C and the flexible extension D are provided with mattress springs 15, 29x.
