Table game apparatus of the type in which a ball is projected up a side channel by a plunger 8 and rolls down channels 1 ... 7 and then returns to the plunger, the ball actuating electric contacts in its passage down the channels, is adapted for the play of a game in which the score to be attained is first set and then the score attained is compared therewith by the apparatus described below. As described, the game is based on football pools, a ball entering channels 1, 4 or 7 scoring one point for a "home" win, channels 2 or 6, two points for an "away" win and channels 3 or 5, three points for a "draw". A bank of playing tables, one for each player, may be provided. A game comprises six matches. Before play commences, an attendant operates keys to set up, on a main display panel, illuminated areas displaying the result 1, 2 or X of each of the six matches and also a total score which is the sum of the points for the six results. A player then operates his plunger, to try to get a ball into the channel appropriate to the first result. If successful, then on his individual display' panel (Fig. 3) the appropriate symbol 1, 2 or X will be illuminated under the heading "Correct Results" in the first line, and a step by step counter will be actuated to illuminate the intermediate points scored under the heading "Total Points". If unsuccessful, the symbol "No Score" is illuminated and the points counter does not operate. The player then makes the other five operations of the plunger, and the appropriate 1, 2, X or "No Score" symbols will be illuminated and the "Total Points" indications will progress. Completion of the sixth operation results in a lamp denoting the end of play being lit on the individual display panel and, if the "Total Points" indication equals the total score indication on the main display panel, then there will be illuminated on the individual display panel a legend "All Correct Line". The apparatus is automatically reset for a new game. A detached electric circuit is described with reference to Fig. 1, not shown.
