[Also in Group V] A machine for extruding cores of sand mixed with a binder comprises a casing a, a hopper a<SP>1</SP>, a plunger (or plungers) f reciprocable in the casing in alignment with a die (or dies) d and two rotary feeding members disposed on each side of the plunger. The plunger is reciprocated by means of a swash-plate g and the feeding members, which comprise curved blades mounted on a rotating shaft, are driven in opposite directions by bevel-gears m, n. The machine is divided in a plane b so that the front of the hopper and the die may be swung away about an axis e to give access to the interior. A grid p, pivotally mounted in the hopper a<SP>1</SP>, breaks up the material falling into the casing a.
