690,251. Blasting. NITROGLYCERIN AKTIEBOLAGET. March 9, 1951 [March 13, 1950], No. 5727/51. Class 68(i) A device using compressed air for packing explosive cartridges 16 into a borehole 10 comprises a sectional pipe 12 that is inserted into the borehole, the end portion of the pipe towards the base of the hole being provided with an insert 14 having a bore less than that of the pipe 12. The cartridges are forced out of the pipe through the insert by compressed air, the wrapping of the cartridges being split by knives 18 circumferentially disposed at the narrowest construction of the insert 14 so that the explosive can be more easily compacted in said borehole.
