685,820. Percussive drills. SANDVIKENS JERNVERKS AKTIEBOLAG. May 15, 1951 [June 22, 1950], No. 11320/51. Class 124. A cutting insert, preferably having a ground base surface, is provided on its side faces with at least two spaced protuberances having ground or otherwise machined surfaces. As shown, an insert 10 has two protuberances 12 on each side face 11, spaced from one another and arranged nearer the ends than the middle of the insert. When the insert is placed in a groove in a drill bit, the protuberances centre it and the brazing metal will be equally distributed on either side.
