682,258. Photographic copying apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 9, 1950 [Jan. 12, 1949], No. 526/50. Addition to 676,972. Class 98 (i). In the document holder of the parent Specification, the transparent planar surface z is pivoted to the frame about an axis 31 which passes through the side edges 32 of the planar surface and is parallel to and spaced from the back edge 35<SP>1</SP> of the planar surface remote from the operator. Connecting rods 33 are pivoted at one of the extremities 35 thereof on the side edges of the planar surface substantially in line with said back edge, the other extremities of the rods being pivoted at 36 to means, such as arms 15, in contact with the pedal 13. With this arrangement, movement of the planar surface upward from the horizontal position causes the document support plates 7 to be lowered.
