Abstract

681,312. Blow-out preventers. CAMERON IRON WORKS, Inc. May 23, 1950, No. 12881/50. Class 85 A packing assembly for blow-out preventers comprises a body 10a of resilient sealing material of hardness 60-75 durometer bonded between two rigidly connected plates 5a, 6a the plates and body having contact faces with a semi-circular cut-away portion centrally thereof adapted to receive a tubing. The entire contact face 10 of the body 1a is formed of a resilient material of hardness 80-95 durometer which is bonded to the softer portion of the body. The edges 11a of the contact face of the hard material adjacent the plates 5a, 6a is inwardly bevelled. U.S.A. Specification 2,194,255 is referred to.
