Class 110(i) In a centrifugal fan or blower, shown In cross-section in Fig. 1, comprising a number of volute chambers 1-4 and coaxial diffusers connected thereto, the diffusers are straight and the diffuser 5 forms a manifold 9 which at least partly encloses the subsequent diffusers over their entire cross-sections. The manifold, which rests on feet 14, is of uniform width over most of its length and is of square, rectangular or circular cross-section. Guide vanes 10, 11 are provided.
