Abstract

677,503. Handles and holders. ROKAAS, B. March 1, 1951 [March 1, 1950], No. 5006/51. Class 61 (i). A handle and holder for steel wool and like cleaning appliances comprises springy retaining prongs 7 which are passed out from and drawn into the bore 9 of a hollow cylindrical holder 10 by means of a cylindrical handle 1 closed at the outer end and slidable on the exterior of the holder 10. The element carrying the prongs is riveted to the stem 2 which passes through a hole in the partition 4 in the cylinder 10 and is fixed to the bottom of the cylinder 1, a spring 3 urging the prongs into the holder. The lower end of the cylinder 10 is thickened and has a curved periphery 6 and curved side walls 6a to facilitate finger grip.
