Apparatus for playing a board game representing a search for treasure comprises a board marked as shown, a die, pieces for moving around the board, four cards marked N, S, E, and W respectively, a card marked " Sail on," a card marked " Permission to Land " and a plurality of sets of letter cards, each set comprising the letters of the word " Treasure," one letter on each card. On landing on a square G marked " Land in Sight," a card is turned up and, if it reads " Permission to Land," a letter card is drawn. The first to complete the word " Treasure " wins. Other squares carry markings denoting penalties.
