669,584. Glass compositions. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO.. May 19, 1949 [June 19, 1948,]; No. 13441/49. Drawings to Specification. Class 56., [Also in Group XL (a)] A glass for a fluorescent screen .(see Group XL (a)) consists of .K 2 O, ,ZnO, B 2 O 3 having im purities less than 0.001 per cent. The proportions may be 0-40 per cent K 2 O, 0-60 per cent ZnO and 100-40 per cent B 2 O 3 , a mixture: of 31 per cent K 2 O and 69 per cent B 2 O 3 , being particularly satisfactory. The constituents are fused in. a platinum crucible at 1000‹ C. and poured into an aluminium mould.
