Abstract
665,666. Reversible ploughs. RANSOMES, SIMS, & JEFFERIES, Ltd., BROWN, R. A., WARREN, C. A., FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd., and BYWATER, J. E. June 7,1950. [June 16, 1949] No. 16092/49. Class 6(i). In a tractor mounted revers ible plough, of the type having dupli cate sets of plough bodies 4, or discs, alternately rotatable on a longitudinal shaft 3, the main frame 1 is rockably mounted on a cross-shaft 27 carried by the tractor lift-links 33, 34 and is positioned thereon by a cam 29 on the end of the longitudinal shaft 3, so that when the shaft is rotated to change the hand of ploughing, the inclination of the plough to the line of draught is automatically readjusted to suit the operative plough unit, through the rotation of the cam 29. The cross-bar 27 passes through guide slots 32 in the forked front ends of the main frame 1. Adjustablescrew abutments 37, 38 are provided in these ends, and the inclination of the plough to the line of draught is determined by the cross-bar 27 bearing against the cam 29 and against either of the screws 37, 38, the inclination being reversed symmetrically when the shaft 3 is rotated. Details of the plough and its reversing mechanism are given in Specification 665,663.
