660,752. Hydraulic turbines. LORENZO, G. DI. Oct. 6, 1949 [Oct. 13, 1948], No. 25739/49. Class 110(iii) A hydraulic installation for generating electric power comprises upper and lower reservoirs 1, 6, a hydraulic turbine 7, and a combustion chamber 24, water being supplied to the turbine alternately from the pressure conduit 3 and from a byepass 9, on the conduit, the pressure of the water in the byepass being increased by explosions generated in the combustion chamber and by water hammer in the pressure conduit caused by the sudden closing of valve 19. The valves are operated from the camshaft 11 driven by the turbine, and water is transferred from the lower to the upper reservoir by a pump 4 driven by power from the generator 10.
