Classes 80(ii) and 80(iv)] In a flexible shaft coupling, rubber or like spheres 14 are seated beween projections .12, 12<SP>1</SP> extending axially from one end of members 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, while projections 16, 16<SP>1</SP> formed on or secured to the other end of the members 10, 10<SP>1</SP> engage complementary recesses in flanges C, D secured to the ends of the shafts. The members 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, pre-assembled as a unit with the spheres 14, are pressed together to permit insertion of the unit between the flanges C, D. Axial positioning of the members is ensured by spring rings 25, 25<SP>1</SP>. The projections 16, 16<SP>1</SP> are such to shear under excessive load.
