637,948. Golf-clubs. DAVIES, R. G. June 4, 1948, No, 15129. [Class 132 (ii)] The striking face of a golf-club, particularly a driver, is formed with a curved striking part 1a which merges into a region 1c of greater curvature and a region 1b of less curvature so that the ball B when struck will receive top spin and loft. These motions result from the reactions of the parts 1c and 1b respectively on a ball which has been momentarily distorted by the impact of the club.
