Abstract

634,767. Automatic guns. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES SOC. ANON. Feb. 12, 1948, No. 4182. Convention date, March 8, 1947. [Classes 92 (ii) and 119] To permit removal of the barrel 1 and the gas-operating mechanism from the breech casing 2 as a unitary block, at least two gas piston rods 4 operating directly on the breechblock 3 are guided in rearwardlyconverging bores in the interior of the barrel structure. The rods are connected to pistons 6 in a cylinder block 8 in the form of a hoop surrounding the barrel, the two cylinders being supplied through an arcuate channel 10 from a single gas tapping. The return-springs 5 of the pistons are compressed through elastic washers 11 and sliding sleeves 12.
