Abstract
630,694. Valves. PARKER APPLIANCE CO. Oct. 16, 1946, No. 30746. Convention date, May 13, 1943. [Class 135] A valve has a resilient annular seat with a thin flexible lip and an integral thicker non- flexible portion. In a valve, e.g. a sump selector valve for aircraft fuel tanks, the passages from the two inlets 41, Fig. 1, to the outlet 6 are controlled by balls 22 rolling in guides 23 when the casing 5 is tilted to contact rubber ring seats 14 on a flexible lip portion 21, Fig. 4, under light gravitational pressure, and stopping against the edge of a metal flange 16 under still heavier pressure. The flange retains the seat in a recess 11 and is held in place by a snap ring 25. A pendulum 34, suspended at 35 in a slot in a baffle 31, has extensions 37 which contact the balls to prevent both seating at the same time.
