626,147. Sewing-machines. AUSTLID, A. Jan. 22, 1947, No. 1983. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 23, 1947.] [Class 112] [Also in Group XXXV] Driving. An electric motor has its armature 7 mounted directly on the loop-taker shaft 3, and its laminated stator 10 secured to ribs 5 formed integrally with the bed 1 of the machine; the brush bridge may also be integral with the bed. The stator is open at the top, and one pole 9 is formed so that the field coils 12 can be passed over it, the limb supporting the other pole being asymmetrically arranged to provide increased space between the two limbs.
