Abstract

620,451. Screwdrivers. JOEL, J. Jan. 17, 1947, No. 1669. [Classes 61(i) and 61(iii)] A screwdriver F has a side slip preventing sleeve H projected normally beyond the end R of the blade by a spring K located within a barrel A secured on the forward end of the screwdriver handle. The rear end of the sleeve telescopes in the end of the barrel and is serrated and expanded at Z to retain it in position. The forward end L of the sleeve is bell-mouth, axially split at M and circularly grooved at N, N<SP>1</SP> to engage the screw head Sand hold it whilst extracting or inserting. The end part T of the handle is axially rotatable relatively to the driving part E.
