Abstract

616,956. Roofs and ceilings; sheets. MORRISON, A. C., and SUCHY HOLDINGS, Ltd. Sept. 25, 1946, No. 28668. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] Comprises several arrangements of spring clips prefixed or prefitted to roofing sheets for securing them to purlins, the invention being also applicable to ridge caps and for securing ceiling linings to joists. In the form shown in Fig. 6 spring clips 13 are inverted or otherwise secured to the under faces of sheets 10 of metal, asbestos or plastic material or of plywood or other non-metallic material metallized by the processes described in Specifications 572,071 and 597,256, [both in Group XXXVI]. The sheets may be corrugated as shown, and the clips, the free ends of which are near the lower edges of the sheets, engage correspondingly shaped purlins 4<1> secured to the rafters 1, the upper edge of the next lower sheet being free on the purlins to allow expansion &c. Fig. 7 shows a clip 18 which is not positively secured to the sheet 10 and Fig. 8 shows a ridge cap 15 secured to the rafters by spring clips 16 and associated parts 17. Ceiling lining boards 22 may be provided with spring clips 23 engaging corresponding formations 24 on the flanges of the joist 21.
