Abstract
613,352. Signs. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and DOWNING, H. June 21, 1946, No. 18726. [Class 3(ii)] [Also in Group XL(a)] A sign or indicator board comprises at least two transverse members 7, 8, Fig. 3, adjustably mounted on a pair of side members 5, 6, the transverse members carrying at least one symbol 1, Figs. 1, 2, with recesses 2 on the front face covered with material 4 fluorescing under ultraviolet light. The transverse members 7, 8 are adjustably mounted on the side member by means of collars 11 fixed to the ends of the members and clamped by wing nuts. The symbols may be mounted by studs engaging slots 18, 19 in the members 7, 8, by re-entrant recesses on the back of each symbol embracing the members or by inter-engaging angle pieces on the symbols and members. The borders 3 of the symbols may be covered with a material fluorescing a different colour from that used in the recess 2, and each symbol may be protected by a weather-proof covering substantially transparent to ultraviolet light.
