604,013. Armouring aircraft. JOSSEN, E. Nov. 20, 1945, No. 31255. Convention date, July 12. [Class 92 (i)] The engine 6 of an aircraft is located behind the cockpit 4 through which the propeller shaft 7 extends, the cockpit being protected by a steel shield 10 which surrounds it and is rotated by the engine, the front of the shield being connected to the propeller hub, and sight apertures 12, 13 provided in the portion which surrounds the cockpit.
