Abstract
603,342. Haulage clips. SHUTTLE WORTH, C. Dec. 19, 1945, No. 34371. [Class 78 (ii)] Relates to a haulage clip of the kind comprising a central body b which has a fixed jaw c depending therefrom to which at n is pivoted a movable jaw c<1> so as to hold a cable k ; a fixed hook b<1> for a haulage tub ; a forked lever d pivoted at g to a body b and having lugs d<1> holding a pin e which slides in a slot f in the body b ; and a safety catch i pivoted to the lever d at i<2> so that when the lever d is pressed down to embrace the jaws the catch i lodges in a notch of the body b and the jaws are held together. The invention lies in the provision of an additional catch r pivoted on the lever d which is pressed over the catch i and also a bolt s which is adjustable so as to secure a rope when worn. A bolt t may secure the two jaws together. A cotter (not shown) may be introduced into the top of the slotf as another safety device.
