Abstract
599,363. Hay-loaders. FEWSTERS (STOCKSFIELD), Ltd., and FEWSTER, J. Sept. 17, 1945, No. 23962. [Class 6 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXX and XXXII] A hay bogie is connected to a tractor by a pin h on the bogie slidably engaged in a guide j on the tractor, Fig. 3, the pin h being held in the bottom of the guide by a catch m during forward travel of the vehicles, the catch being released by hand when backing the vehicle so that the bogie tips to lower the tines f which penetrate beneath the haycock. On forward movement of the tractor, a strut s pivoted at t digs into the ground to lift the rear of the bogie with consequent descent of the pin h in the guide j which is thereby locked in the bottom of the guide by the catch m. The bogie comprises channels b attached to an axle c carrying wheels d and on this frame is carried the tines f by cross-bars e. The tines are tubular with telescopic ends f<SP>1</SP>. The frame comprising the cross-bars e may be detachable and used on the front of the tractor for use as a hay sweep. The frames e, f may be covered with detachable floor boards to convert the bogie into a flatbottomed trailer.
