Abstract

593,885. Bedsteads, settees, &c. HOLDEN, W. F. C., and HEAL & SON, Ltd. June 19, 1945, No. 15608. [Class 52(ii)] The frame a of a bedstead, settee, &c. is rotatably supported at the head end upon a fixed pedestal so that it may turn in a horizontal plane, the foot end being supported by a skid b or by two separate legs. The pedestal comprises a circular frame c, supported by legs d, and a crossbar e which spans the frame c diametrically, and a bowshaped member g is pivoted to the centre of the crossbar e, the ends of said member g being pivotally connected to the sides of the bed frame a at g<1>. To move the frame a, it is lifted slightly at the foot end, pivoting about g<1>, and is swung round, springs at the head end of the frame a counterbalancing the weight to be lifted.
