577,863. Wireless receiving apparatus. PANNELL, W. M., DALGLEISH, J. W., and PYE, Ltd. Jan. 15, 1943, Nos. 790 and 3261. [Class 40 (v)] A tuned circuit device has the inductance coil or coils thereof arranged in a housing of insulating material, the external and internal surfaces of which are coated with conductive material so that the conductive coatings constitute the electrodes, and the intervening material of the housing constitutes the dielectric of the condenser or condensers of the device. As shown in the Figure, an inductance coil 1 has a magnetic shell 2 of dust iron and a. dust core 3 adjustably mounted in a bush 9 carried by a plastic housing 7. A thick copper ring 10 is placed round the casing 7 before insertion in a condenser formed of a ceramic pot 11 and electrode coatings 12, 13. Two such units may be mounted end to end in a plastic housing to form a tuned transformer unit (Fig. 2, not shown). If magnetic coupling is desired, the end parts of the condenser electrodes are dispensed with, while, if capacitative coupling is required, part only of the end of the outer electrode is removed.
