[Class 82 (i)] Alloys capable of withstanding the working conditions of a hot-work piercing die which is subjected to water-cooling between successive piercing operations consist of : carbon 0.25- 0.35 per cent, molybdenum 2.0-2.5 per cent, chromium 4.5-5.0 per cent, silicon 0.8-1.0 per cent, manganese 0.2-0.4 per cent, and the balance iron, which may contain the usual impurities. The alloys may also contain one or more of the metals nickel, vanadium, tungsten, in a total amount not exceeding 0.1 per cent.
