Abstract
571,069. Warming motor-cycle handle-bars. FRY, J. E. Oct. 19, 1943, No. 17176. [Class 39 (iii)] A handle-bar 1 of a motor-cycle or control column of an aircraft is fitted with a heatinsulating sleeve 2 on which a resistance wire 3 is wound and retained at each end by a metal band 4, to which supply leads are connected. The heating resistance is enclosed by a sleeve 6 of rubber, thermo-setting material, or fabric impregnated with resin. One lead 5 is connected to earth, and the other through a switch to the distribution box of the vehicle. In a modification, the heating element is enclosed in a strip of insulating material which is wound around the handle-bar grip and connected at the ends to resilient metal bands. Specifications 23161/03, [Class 39], 24049/14, 209,062, 271,345, [all in Class 39 (iii)], 425,360, [Group XXIV], 447,619 and 453,131 are referred to.
