Abstract

1-2-Dichlorbutene-3 is produced by heating 1-4-dichlorbutene-2 above 75 DEG C., preferably in the presence of cuprous, ferric or aluminium chloride or of copper or silica. In examples, 1-4-dichlorbutene-2 is (1) passed through a copper tube at 480 DEG C.; (2) refluxed with cuprous chloride at 135-137 DEG C., the product containing 1-chlorbutadiene-1-3; (3) a mixture of 1-4-dichlorbutene-2 and 1-2-dichlorbutene-3 obtained by chlorinating butadiene-1-3 is refluxed with cuprous chloride; and (4) the same mixture is continuously fed into an autoclave containing cuprous chloride, at 135-137 DEG C., the product being passed continuously to a rectifying column.
