Abstract

Concrete of high crushing strength and which hardens rapidly is prepared by vibrating, e.g. at more than 5000 vibrations per minute, so as to make plastic, a concrete mix which has insufficient water to give plasticity without vibrating. The whole mix and/or the finer constituents may be vibrated. The vibrations may be transmitted pneumatically, or through a movable part of the vessel which contains the mix &c., or, in a continuous process a pipe containing the mix may be vibrated. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 282,039, [Class 87 (ii)], 328,030, [Class 22], 352,676; 468,841 and 485,727, [both in Group II].
