Abstract

562,559. Milling. MORRIS; Ltd., B. O., and MORRIS, E. M. Dec. 11, 1942, No. 17643. [Class 83 (iii)] A work-holder for securing the shanks of rotary cutters whilst the teeth are being milled comprises a collet 12 for gripping the shank 13 of a cutter 27 and an ejector pin 10 for removing the shank after the cutting operation. The ejector is attached to a plunger 18 provided with a hand wheel 14 screwing at 15 within a sleeve 16 secured to the collet. The cutter 27 is located axially within the collet by an adjustable stop 33 carried by an arm 30 rotatable about a stud 29 so as to be brought into alignment with the cutter which is moved into contact therewith by the ejector 10. The collet is drawn into its bevelled sleeve 11by a nut 16<1> screwing on the collet sleeve 16.
