Abstract

558,293. Grinding saws. SMITH, N. C. June 25, 1942, No. 8733. [Class 60] A support for saws during grinding comprises a flat table 13 formed with an extension 18 having a longitudinal stop flange 20 and a groove 19 parallel thereto to accommodate the teeth of a blade placed flat on the table and a gap 22 for the grinding wheel 11, whereby a saw blade may be moved by hand to bring the teeth successively into grinding position. A second groove 21 is provided along the opposite edge of the table for the other teeth of a doubleedged saw. A detent 23 under control of a spring 28 is provided to engage a tooth and hold the saw against endwise movement.
