555,110. Uniting by fusion; work-holders. CHATWOOD SAFE CO., Ltd., and BRUCKSHAW, H. S. June 19, 1942, No. 8453. [Classes 83 (iii) and 83 (iv)] A fixture for use in welding and like operations comprises two standards a, b providing the bearings c, d of two trunnion-like supports e, f, projecting from a frame g of cranked form the frame being adjustable in height relatively to the supports and carrying at a mid-position a rotary table n which can be raised and lowered relatively to the frame, means being provided for locking the frame and table in any desired positions of rotary adjustment.. The frame g is provided with holes i and after adjusting the crank throw to suit the dimensions of the article and to obtain balance of the loaded frame, about the axes of revolution, may be secured in position by bolts h. Counterweights j may be provided. The frame may be held in adjusted angular position by a stop k entering in one of the holes in a dial plate m and in the standard b. The rotary table n may be axially adjusted in the frame g by a screw o and may be locked in the desired angular position by a stop p entering one of the holes q in the underside of the table. The operator may stand on a platform adjustably secured to the standards.
