554,055. Condensers. RAHT, M., and WEGO, CONDENSER CO., Ltd. March 27, 1942, No. 4063. [Class 37] The ends of a tubular condenser casing are closed by discs secured to rings fixed to the tube. In the example wound condenser units 1 ... 4 connected in series on an insulating tube 6 are embedded in insulating material in a tube 5. Metal discs 7, which may be single or double as shown, closing the ends and being secured by rings 8, shown as of metal sprung into the tube and soldered to the discs. Connecting leads 10 serve as terminals. In modifications, the slits in the rings are forced apart by conical screws and the whole soldered. Where the insulating outer tube is of porcelain, a ring of soft metal may be let into the inner wall to receive the spacing ring 7 which is expanded and soldered. Where the tube is of metal the disc may be annular with an insulating boss, the metal edge being soldered to a single metal ring surrounding the end of the tube.
