[Class 17 (iii)] A reinforcement for the top lift of a heel comprises an arcurate member having a vertical part 1, a horizontal part 2 provided with spikes 4 to engage the top lift, and a bridge or strip member 3, the whole being stamped out of metal in one piece. The combined top lift 5 and reinforcement 1 is secured to the heel by rivets driven through the leather top piece, the margin 6 of the vertical part 1 forming part of the tread.
