537,943. Delivering articles from weighing and other apparatus. LANGRISH, H. W., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. May 24, 1940, No. 9164. [Class 143] In an apparatus wherein a succession of articles are fed to a support (e.g. a scale pan 1) and are successively lifted therefrom and carried away, the lifting means comprises a rotating conveyer 7, a control lever 17 pivoted at 20 on the conveyer, a stationary cam 23, a carrier 12 loosely pivoted on a pin 13 on the control lever and terminating at opposite ends in an article-engaging groove 15 and in a tail 22 respectively, and a transverse pin 21 secured to the conveyer so as to be engaged by the tail. In operation, the articles 3 from a shoot 4 are carried successively by a transfer device 6 to flutes 11 in the conveyer and are successively deposited thereby on the scale pan 1. Immediately after a weighing operation the pin 13 is caused by the stationary cam 23 to rock the control lever 17, the control lever carrying with it the carrier 12. The tail of the carrier abuts against the transverse pin 21 and the carrier is given a rapid angular movement to lift the article off and beyond the scale pan. Continued rotation of the conveyer carries the article downward until the article falls off the carrier to a box or shoot. Specifications 527,983 and 528,388 are referred to.
