Abstract

537,868. Thermionic valve holders. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and ANDREWS, R. J. M. Jan. 9, 1940, No. 467. [Class 38 (i)] A thermionic valve holder comprises two parts each of which is made in interchangeable patterns, the contacts being secured between the parts, and the inner part 1 having apertures 2 to receive the contact pins of the valve and recesses 2a in which the socket contacts 8 are located below the apertures. The flat shanks of the contacts 8 lie in radial grooves in the bottom of the part 1 and in longitudinal grooves in its periphery so as to be secured in position when the parts are assembled. Interchangeable parts 1 having the apertures variously arranged to suit different valves fit into the outer part 3. The part 3 has a flange 5, Fig. 2, at its base for mounting on a panel 7. It may be exchanged for a part 4, Fig. 3, having a flange 6 at the top so as to fit into the panel 7. Specification 449,706. is referred to.
