536,968. Ink. INTERCHEMICAL CORPORATION. Nov. 24, 1939, No. 15021/40. Divided out of 536,626. [Class 146 (iii)] A bituminous thermo-plastic printing ink has a melting point between 150‹ and 300‹F. and contains a vehicle comprising at least 50 per cent. of a solvent wax and " Gilsonite" (Registered Trade Mark) in sufficient amount to impart viscosity to give good printing characteristics. The wax may comprise hydrogenated soya bead oil. The " Gilsonite " may be used in sufficient quantity, up to about 40 per cent. by weight, to impart colour as well as viscosity, preferably between 20 per cent. and 30 per cent. by weight. A pigment may be ground in a minimum quantity of oil or varnish or it may be dispersed in the vehicle on a rubber mill or a heated ball mill. Specification 515,462 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that crude montan wax, montan pitch, or petroleum pitch may be added and the solvent wax may comprise hydrogenated fish oil acid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
