531,557. Kinematograph cameras. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and WISHING, G. F. (Karl, T. B. in part). July 5, 1939, No. 19569. [Class 97 (i)] A film guide, shaped for insertion within the camera, and received in a slot in the back of the camera casing, replaces the usual takeup spool, and leads the exposed film directly out of the camera. As shown, the guide 19 has a channel 21 with marginal tracks 20 to direct the film 13 through a slot 27, and is removably secured by engagement over a pin 23 in the camera, by a neck extending through the slot 27 and carrying a head 28, and by one or more screws 29. Clearances 24, 25, 26 for camera fixtures may be formed on the guide, and a film sprocket may be provided near the slot 27. A plate held by screws may close the slot 27 when the guide is removed. The camera may be used for recording the finish of a greyhound race, the ejected film being cut off and passed by a shoot from a camera house above the judge's box to a development room for immediate processing ; weights may be attached to each end of the film passed through the shoot.
